Sky TV films advert

Post by Coboman »

Somebody at Sky must like steam engines because again they are running an advert this time with a semi animated train pulled by LNER 4464 Bittern advertising films on demand. From a distance it almost looks like its pulling the 1930s coronation set in blue and silver. The shots and animation are quite good actually! No doubt it will appear on youtube if you dont get to see it.

Is it showing up in the regular roster on Sky 1?

We're with Beardy Branson so don't have the sky movies channel or the on demand sky movies

I must be of Scottish descent as I make do with Freeview.

So my puzzle is why do Lloyds Bank adverts always feature a Green TGV like thing?

It's on ITV1......but they could have used the real chime whistle FFS.
Shot on the Mid Hants BTW....October 18th to 22nd....that's some turn around on the editing front.

Found it on youtube anyway: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ljx-tzpmv0Q

I'm a bit miffed about the whistle, marshmallows, yeti and the driver who's clearly been smoking or sniffing something dodgy, but it's a bit of railway publicity so I suppose it dosen't really matter.

EDIT: The shot from 0:40 to 0:42 has been flipped, note the ejector pipe on the wrong side

That viaduct at the end looks very Ribbleshead to me.....

It is a fantasy advert. Next you're all going to complain Santa Claus doesn't exist!

Brilliant bit of advertising there for Bittern (4464 I believe, no?)

Loved it - who cares about the sounds, it's just nice to see an LNER steam locomotive in the public eye again.

Ay up!

The S&C features heavily in it. There's the northern end of Blea Moor Tunnel (heading North), Dent Head Viaduct (heading south) with Batty Moss viaduct (often erroneously called Ribblehead!) at the end. It does how how far the train simulators have come!

I wonder what the driver's on meself.....
If I ain't here, I'm in Bilston, scoffing decent chips at last!!!!
