Great map Leamside is further north than Newcastle.

Many of those closed railway lines have now been closed for upwards of 50-60 years or even longer in some cases and I am only guessing that not to many people are that bothered either way about old railway lines being reopened or not other than railway enthusiasts who want to ride over them again.
