Very splendid.
Perhaps I should have started from a BR version for mine.
Was it difficult to remove the smokebox number plate?

Easily removed with scalpel blade and wet and dry paper, door then repaired with Satin Black enamel. New smokebox door handle also fitted.

The only down side is that the BR versions have a Domed Smokebox Door only fitted after 1945 hence its new number being post war. I would not consider changing the door , due to handrails and steam reverse on rail on offside rail. Both would be wrecked to fit a new Door.

This is modelled from Yeadon p.58, I suppose, Mick? Do you think the rivets on Hornby's smokebox wrapper need to go?

Ah, good - that makes the tender right. But I think the rivets are flush:

Near enough for me , they look like rivets to me !! Would you actually see flush rivets under a layer of grime?. :D

That's my point: they should be invisible on the model, but they're visible....

Hornby Book Law which turned into a virtual rebuild.

Loco
Front end straightened, Bufferbeam repainted , Boiler repainted due to awful top seam and new lining, Firebox shaved at bottom so Footplate was something like straight and the Cab refitted, adding new numbers that are now inline, Etched Wind defectors, Cab now has Piano stools instead of wrong Bucket seats, Crew added. Reversing Rod polished up , new Ashpan Lever fitted to correct side. New etched Name and Works Plated fitted

Tender

Top edge of front Lined out and painted Black instead of the original Green unpainted Hornby effort, LNER letters dropped inline with Cab numbers,Coal added to Tender.

Start made on a Royal Blue A1/1 as I am selling my PDK version.

Tender completed using a correct Flat sided modified GBL Mallard A4 tender , mated to a Hornby A4 tender chassis.

Good work, Mick - good to see you hard at it again. Book Law certainly looks much better in the cab/firebox area.
