Re: NYMR teak train grows!
Some excellent work there.
Congratulations, and you all should get an award for services towards the preservation of our historic heritage.
It's a shame about the low cloud on most of the photos, as the sun makes all the difference.

More good news from the LNERCA - we have been awarded a grant of £15,000 from the Association for Industrial Archaeology towards the restoration of Thompson CK 18477, our follow-on project to 1623. Work is likely to begin in the autumn, once 1623 is complete. As I think I've mentioned earlier, we have also received a grant of £5000 from the Ken Hoole Trust towards modifying an underframe to use under ECJS Clerestory 189, and we hope to progress the two projects in parallel. We have more applications in the pipeline, keep your fingers crossed for us!

Looking good, can't wait for my trip on Saturday on the train. Pity the LNER Soc do clashed with this run.

Corridor Brake Third 3669 built 1930 by BRCW, just arrived at Grosmont carriage sidings after its test run from Pickering.

Wow 3669 is amazing, congratulations to all involved in restoring this coach...ops...carriage to such a high standard, and what a smooth ride, hardly felt it moving standing in the guards compartment.

Yes it really rides well. Had a nice ride today but pity about the weather. Well done to 4493 and his small band of helpers who did most of the restoration off site before it moved to the NYMR and to those who helped after it moved.
Re: NYMR teak train grows!
Indeed a credit to all concerned
Re: NYMR teak train grows!
Thanks gents for your kind comments, its been a pleasure and privilege to work on one of HNG's products (and to have Tim Godfrey re-commission the carriage on Saturday). As a taste of things to come I could not resist posting this photo by Mark Stovold of Pickering yard last Thursday, centre stage 3669 being shunted into its test train, visible behind is TK1623 awaiting its turn in the limelight later this year, TTO 56856 waiting for a wheelset change in the siding and TTO 43654 on the turntable, a lovely scene marred only by the tinge of BR Blue! Can any of you photoshop types turn an 08 into a J72?

Have the LNERCA shown any interest in the two NER bogie coach bodies stored at the Tanfield Railway?
