Stockton & Darlington Railway marker spotted by the goods offices at the back of the Rowley station complex - not an area i'd paid much attention to before today, but the crowds gave me a good reason to go to the quieter areas

In the plastic tent is 1877 built 'Lewin', restored to 1930's condition and undergoing painting, the plastic sheeting is to protect the paintwork while it is being done....
...however someone has made three holes in the sheeting large enough to get a good view and get a photograph of it! Not sure if this was done by the staff or a visitor, the idea of a visitor just straining to see it and the temptation proving too much is quite amusing though

One of two identical Seaham Harbour 'coffee pot' locomotives, this one was formerly at display at Darlington Railway Museum before the 'rejuvenation' into 'Head of Steam'
Two ex-patriated narrow gauge locomotives, 'Durham', an Avonside of 1933, and 'Grey', a Barclay of 1931, originally supplied to Durham Water Board for the Burnhope Dam project in the 1930's, and ended up in the USA (full story here http://beamishtransport.blogspot.co.uk/ ... k-for.html)
