Oh for the ability to time-travel!
That would have been a momentous occasion, along with the first run by Silver Link!
I bet others could suggest a few other dates LNER fans should dial into their "tardis"............

But only if it could deliver me to the right PLACE! Knowing the TARDIS from Dr Who its like to drop me in the middle of the Nullarbor Plain without a Sky album or summat....Marvin wrote:Someone has to say it-2002EarlMarischal wrote:I bet others could suggest a few other dates LNER fans should dial into their "tardis"............

Most of us have probably seen this one, but at what date would this photo have been taken?

Re: flying scotsman
I'm not really a train/loco person, not good at researching, and can't go trawling the Encyclopedia forums' posts at pres. but I think this has been mentioned sometime.
Trains on the Down Fast (the 'Single') and Down Slow (A4), are at Stevenage station ; but when?
The year 1937 popped into mind when I read this query - some sort of railway celebratory event? - but I've no idea if any of this is accurate.

Quite Possibly the 50's or early 60's. It is Stirling Single No.1 and Sir Nigel Gresley. You can see both of them in this day and age. No. 1 is at NRM and Sir Nigel Gresley is located on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
