9 day tour with 3 hour express with A4 as part of it (glasgow to perth)
Dutchess on Shap and Beatock
71000 on 2 legs reaching preston
Shame they are going to pilot the A4 with 45407 rather than 61264 or 62005 from Perth to inverness I know what Id prefer. Or of course there is 76079 if you think about it. 4771 would be pushing it (the NRM has gone soft recently)
1, 4771 not allowed to 75mph anymore
2, 30777 covering on most tours
3, the Flying Scandol is taking a while
Why don't they put it back together and stick it in the Muesum and scrap Scarburgh, go back to Settle Carlisle and run in compertion with Kingfisher over the Blue Ribbon. Image it could bring 60009 into the north agian and of caurse the double header opertunities 30777+850 vs 45407 and 76079 is an interesting prospect, then theres the 2 LNER locos with links to WCRC and the NRM (61264 and 62005) as well as 4771. 34067, 6233, 6201, 60009 (4472) and 71000 all major contenders. Then theres 5690 (arrived Carlisle 15 early after a shap run in the rain, onl;y 71000 has done better on time into carlisle, arriving 28 mins early with 13 on (5690 had 9).
The weather here is Baltic but so were the tank engines
