Platform tickets on the North Tyne Loop

Post by Jonathan1973 »

Does anyone know what type of Platform Ticket (if any), was issued in the North Tyne Loop stations prior to their de-staffing and conversion to Metro? I understand that all (in theory), were provided with ticket barriers and that tickets were checked and collected on entering or exiting the platform. I vaguely remember seeing both an Associated Automation (AA) ticket from Tynemouth, and an Edmondson Platform Ticket. If anyone can help or even provide some scanned tickets, I'd be grateful.

from what i can remember it was only the larger sttions that proper barriers with gates. south gosforth for instance had a gate but you had to pass through it to get to the ticket office in the waiting room or the parcels office so a platform ticket was a waste of time, the oppisite ticket was only opened as a train was due.
