E.C.M.L. Pullman Formations Circ 1955
Good Evening Gents
I suspect this question has been asked before, however I am trying to identify the type of Pullman coaches used within the Tyne Tees Pullman eg, 1st Parlour/Kitchen or 3rd Parlour/ Kitchen etc that formed the consist of the Tynes Tees Pullman. I have information from the "Coupe News" Web site, but I am not sure if when it states car "Nilar" K, is that a 3rd Kitchen or is it a type "K" coach? My Choice of formation is as follows:- No162 3rd Brake, Car "Nilar" (K),"Lucille" (P)32 (K). "Phyllis"(K), "Agatha" (P),167(K), 62,(B). I am hoping to identify these coaches to enable me to accquire the correct version fron the Hornby range.
Any help with this would be very much appreciated

Didn't Tony Wright cover this in an article in BRM some years ago? Alternatively I understand that there is a Pullman group on Yahoo!

ISTR the bar was named Hadrians Bar, not sure of dates though.
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.
Re: E.C.M.L. Tynes Tee Pullman Circ 1955
The Hadrian Bar ran from inauguration after the war until Mk1 pullmans took over - not sure when that was. I remember drinking Ginger Beer(!) at the bar in 1948 as a schoolboy going back from Newcastle to boarding school in London with a 'new' A1 up front!
The bar was kitted out internally with Formica as an advert for that newly arrived from AMerica finish.

A new Hadrian Bar (354?) was built as part of the Metro- Cammel Mk 1 Pullman builds which took over the Tees-Tyne Pullman service in early 1961. Later it became for a while the Nightcap Bar on the West Coast overnight service to Glasgow.
