Neil,
A problem or two with some of these 'unidentified's' here, I think.

http://www.deltics.photos.gb.net/p63189530.html
I can't place this as 'Southbound Potters Bar', although the pre-1970s resignalling/electrification cantilever signal structure visible makes this an understandable conclusion : - There were about eight of them between Greenwood and about a mile north of Potters Bar, but I can't recognise the background in this photo as being along this stretch.
There were occasional examples of this type of signal structure elsewhere for the Main/Fast line on 3 & 4-track sections, including as far north as between Grantham South and Great Ponton. These were often, but not always, accompanied by a straight-post signal for the parallel Slow line, however I can't tell whether there is such a second signal in this shot.
So, going by the signal visible, some other possible locations come to mind, (also trying to take account of line curvature, level of line compared to surrounding ground, and background features ; and the 1A03 headcode makes me inclined to agree that it's southbound, and on the Up Fast line) : -
- about 1/3 - 1/2-way from Marshmoor to Brookmans Park (an area which once, in GNR, pre-"Marshmoor" times, had a signal box called Bell Bar) ;
- a few hundred yards south of Knebworth station (though there should perhaps be more houses visible for this one);
- between Hitchin South and Stevenage North, a few hundred yards south of Little Wymondley village (there also looks in the photo to be a slight widening of the formation on the left, which could accord with the former Wymondley Sidings which ran beside the Down Goods).

So, if pushed, I would go for the Wymondley choice of these options, but it would be great to hear from anyone who can be more certain.

http://www.deltics.photos.gb.net/p63189517.html
1N10 is not at Biggleswade. Only the Down and Up Fast lines ran between the platforms there.
Thinking through the 3-tracks-between-platforms stations that I knew (there are very few), I can only come up with Wood Green as fitting what's visible in this one, which would make 1N10 as being on the Down Fast.
The left hand platform face would then be No.4 for the Up Fast (the 3rd visible track being Down Slow No.1), and the signal box and 2-arm stop/distant signals visible at the far end of the platform, then fit as being Wood Green "Up Box No.4" with its adjacent Home signal and outer Distant for Hornsey No.2.
There's a high retaining wall beyond the right-hand platform island to hold the ground back for the Down Slow No.2 and Down Goods passing invisibly behind that platform. (And No.3 Box would be not far out of shot to the right.)
The two footbridges (one close to the signal box) would also be correct for Wood Green, and the bulky building in the top right background looks to be in the right style to have been the GN's former west side booking office etc., near the gated Bedford Road entrance to Alexandra Park & Palace.

Just a hunch, but something about the general look of this great photo, to me suggests the early 1960s, a time when British Railways' North Eastern Region was still with us as an entity, and which therefore might mean that the 'N' in 1N10 signified the train as having a destination somewhere in the NE Region, rather than the subsequent meaning of 'Newcastle Division' following the ER and NER being amalgamated.

This is a tricky one for me. I don't know Selby at all, so can't comment on that possibility.

But it doesn't quite look like Huntingdon to me though.
Pre-1970s widening there, only the Up Main and Down Fast passed between the platform structures, with the Down side one being an island having the Down Slow pass along its outside.
After the four-tracking, the track/platform configuration was, and remains, as seen here, with the bulk of the original buildings remaining at the back of the up platform, in a position resembling that of those in the background of this train's platform. But what's visible of the footbridge here looks to me as it being of a style perhaps older than used for new footbridges in the 1970s. Looking back along the platform from the loco towards the train's rear, it appears to me like the platform might become virtually straight near the footbridge and buildings, and the line of platform lamps to the right could be taken as confirming this, whereas Huntingdon's up platform gently curves throughout its length.
Regarding the glimpse of various buildings beyond the opposite platform in the photo, I may be wrong but I can't recall that area of Huntingdon's station environs ever looking like that.

However, I could be wrong.

My photo of Deltic 18 at Selby 1979.Note the builder's yard on the left (I think it still exists) footbridge and typical concrete lamp posts.
In photo 530 the white painted bracket signal is LNER in origin - they were used at Hadley Wood and Grantham among other places and I think they date from the late 1930's.

Thanks PinzaC55 : If your picture's at Selby, then Neil's photo 529 definitely is as well.

Interesting about that style of bracket signal structure. For some reason I'd always guessed it was a BR(E) design; probably because all those through Hadley Wood were from the 1954-9 Greenwood-N.of Potters Bar station widening.
Marshmoor's Up Fast outer Distant (double yellow/green only) for his UF IB signal M9 at Hawkshead (S.of Brookmans Pk.) was a later addition, probably also in the 50s, for additional braking distance from increased linespeed.
The one or two between Stevenage and Hitchin South, I'm less clear on.
Huntingdon North No.1's red/green UF Starter probably wasn't too old.
As for those around Grantham and any further north, I couldn't hazard a guess.

Between London and Hitchin, I noticed that the few semaphore signal brackets which were not of GN-style lattice type, seemed to have a family resemblance with these colour-light 'gallows'-like brackets (e.g. Wood Green No.1 (No.3), Cemetery, New Barnet South, Marshmoor, Welwyn GC, Langley, Hitchin Yard).

By the late 1960s, when Knebworth's Down Slow Starter was a colour-light, acting also as Langley's Distant, it was, oddly, a left-hand gallows bracket standing between the DS and DF, though I can't recall now what the structure's type looked like.

I'm sure there used to be one of those bracket signals in the deep cutting south of Grantham and I'm fairly sure one or two of them were retained but fitted with new signal heads when the area was resignalled.

With regards to the above photo of 55008 at Selby the builders yard on the left was 'Porter's wood yard' and has long gone .It was rail connected and used toreceive the occasional wagon load of timber. I think the 2 centre tracks were removed shortly after the opening of the Selby diversion. The goods yard on the right is now a bus depot and only the bay platform remains .

StevieG, regarding the bracket signals I can't actually swear to them being LNER but I think I have seen a photo of an LNER liveried train passing one in LNER days and they are of course similar to the LNER ones used at Doncaster.BTW with that photo I would tend to agree that is Potters Bar, though I think Oakleigh Park is another possibility.

Re Selby.
At the end of the bay platform is the local PW parking area established when the local supervisor had his office in the UP side station buildings.
I last parked up there in April last year in my van.
The siding trackbed with the track machines on is roughly on the current fence line behind which there is still an official road vehicle access track to the junction site beyond the road bridge.
