I have added a small collection of Class 29 Baby Deltics to the Deltics Album

Stratford looks nice and busy,a real shame the "Babys" didn't last longer than they did.Pity they were all scrapped too.I suppose there was no diesel preservation movement as such then.
Bring back Ferrybridge station!

Neil,
Is there any mix-up in respect of the last two links, the intended photos, the photos they actually lead to, and how you've labelled them here?

I ask because : -

- the 3rd listed ["D5905 complete with ladder on nose (unknown location)"], comes up captioned as 5906 (which I think is correct, looking at the loco's cabside). I would think this location is just south of Potters Bar station (visible in background), viewed from the up side embankment.

- the last listed ["D5906 (unknown location)"], immediately comes up captioned as being at Stratford.

Slip of the fingers when adding number sory

I have added a small collection of Class 29 Baby Deltics
The Baby Deltics were Class 23 under the TOPS system. The Class 29's were the North British Type 2's with Paxman engines.

Weren't they up in Scotland,the 29's?

Aye they could stay up north by all accounts they were not very reliable.
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.

That's progress for you!!Mind you-if someone said to me at 5am on a January morning "lets get off to Oban",i think i'd break down too!
