Rail accident Ferry Hill 1946

Post by bazt2 »

Can anybody help me? I am doing research for the Railways Archive and have found a film clip reference a rail accident in 1946 near to Ferry Hill Station. The accident involved a collision between a night sleeper and wagons on the line. 12 were killed and twenty injured. Would anybody have a date?

Thanks for that. Pathe clip only mentioned Ferry Hill which (being total plonker and LMS devotee too) I didn't connect with the January accident.
