Someone has to do it!
This one covers a subject which never occurred to me until I saw it.
Then I began to think. Of course the water troughs would have to be cleaned out.
I bet it was stinky, cold work.
Which reminds me, has anyone modelled, or seen a layout with water troughs represented?

Re: Someone has to do it!
I have never seen troughs modelled, perhaps they would be too long for most models. This must be a challenge for someone, model troughs with a loco picking up water!

Re: Someone has to do it!
My local model engineering group built one for a bit of fun once and got it to work.52A wrote:I have never seen troughs modelled, perhaps they would be too long for most models. This must be a challenge for someone, model troughs with a loco picking up water!

Triang used to manufacture water troughs for their track. Purely cosmetic, of course.52A wrote:I have never seen troughs modelled, perhaps they would be too long for most models. This must be a challenge for someone, model troughs with a loco picking up water!

Hands up all those who have done these jobs.
First time I got conned into dropping a fire I remember nearly choking to death, much to the great hilarity of the assembled onlookers.

Done both of those jobs, smelly, dirty and sometimes sustaining a burn for your pains but I wouldn't have it any other way.
