GHOST RIDERS IN THE SKY

Post by hq1hitchin »

Really odd letter in our local paper from a meterologist and ex RAF Bomber Command bloke in response to reports of a very well done UFU hoax in the 60s which turned out to be by Farnborough apprentices. Seems this chap, together with other family members, saw a double deck bus which was well lit internally but with no headlights FLYING over houses in Cliftonville, Kent in 1952. He chased after it(!) but it vanished. He relates that his grandmother was run over in 1931 and came back to advise her family on things - in this case it was the ghost of a bus that some months earlier had killed 24 young cadets marching in the semi-dark in Gillingham.

Don't know I am entirely convinced but I did work with some hard front line railwaymen, the sort whom I would, and sometimes had to, depend upon for my life who said they had seen ghosts at various times. Anyone care to comment?
A topper is proper if the train's a non-stopper!
