N Gauge Gresley bogies

Post by TonyM »

Hi Gang
I am after some Gresley N bogies for coaches. The NG Society (3NGK90) ones are very flimsy and do not hold the wheel sets firmly enough.
I have asked Dapol if they would sell me their bogies but the answer was a firm NO. My question is, Who else/where else can I get Gresley N bogies from? Is there a Nickel silver or brass bogie or even white metal, would add some weight. The reason I am asking is I am trying to make up some old Farish teak suburban coaches into articulated sets. I have 8 so could make 2 quad art sets if I could get a substantial enough bogie.
Any help appreciated.

Cheers

Hi Tony,

I've been trying to get some bogies out of Dapol too. I've asked BR Lines to see if they can get hold of some for me as they are now the official spares distributor for Dapol.

Also BH Enterprises does a white metal bogies, which I believe is based on the old Fleetline bogie. However, don't ask me what wheels to use as the axles on everything I've tried are too long and split the casting....
