K2's on The M & GN east of South Lynn after 1953

Post by Canary59 »

i would be grateful if any members could enlighten me on this subject. It seems possible that Colwick locos could have been used east of South Lynn on both freights and excursions. The locos that arrived at South Lynn were transferred away to South Lincs in 1953.

Until the MGN closed in 1959, it is certain that excursions from Nottingham, or Derby might well have been hauled
by Colwick locos as far as Great Yarmouth.

Whatever was available and capable would have been used.
