GCR Goods Galore Day 1 (06-05-17) Day 1

Post by Brown Jack »

Hi

Spent a very miserable day at the GCR weather wise on Saturday. But the number of engines running (7) made up for the weather, here are a few shots. http://trev11.zenfolio.com/p1063895078

I remember the Master Cutler trains back in the late 1950's, usually A3's rather than Western Region stock though, I also recall 9f's running passenger services in the 1960's

I don't know if you have the book Main Line Lament by Colin Walker, but I am using this to base part of a model railway I'm building, though I spent as much time on the LMS as I did the GCR, even though our garden overlooked the Great Central.

I lived one mile from the Leeds-St Pancras mainline and spent a lot of time there. Now spend some time at the GCR.

Found this amongst some old negatives, I think I took this around 1963
