LNER 12 ton pipe wagon - when were they built from?

Post by Robpulham »

Late last year I backdated a Parkside BR 12 ton Pipe Wagon to an LNER version.

I primed it but for various reasons didn't get any further with painting it. I have now got the top coat on and once I have re-done the underframe I need to add transfers.

At the minute I don't have a copy of LNER wagons part 4B which I assume covers these because the others don't and wondered if some kind soul could tell me what year they were built from so that I can add either pre or post 1937 transfers and ideally a running number?

Many thanks for any assistance that you might be able to offer.

Dia. 103 built 1936 nos. 187822-71 and Dia. 127 built 1937 and 1948 nos. 204297-396 and 296945-7014. Post-1937 seems favourite.

A definite reason for favouring post '37 is that the BR dia 461 followed directly from the LNER dia 127, the later slightly wider version of the two LNER type.
