G'Day Gents
Take it back, tell them it don't fit, then when you get your money back, tell them you've changed your mind, and will have one.
Nice work bench, plenty of room to s p r a w l.

Easiest way is buy another at the new price, then take it back with the higher priced receipt (as long as you're within the refundable period, and as long as travel costs don't outweigh any saving). Not that I've ever done that, no, not me...

Not really worth it, York was the closest B&Q to have one in stock which is around 55 miles from us.

Good luck with the new workbench.
I hope you are keeping a record of all your weathering projects. You have few rivals even amongst older modellers, and you might consider publishing your work in the future.

Most kind gents. I feel I've a long way to go before I'm publishing books, although magazine articles are something I'm going to be doing. However I need to push my own skills in kit building.
Oh yes, I have an order book, it's getting pretty full.

Re: 2750 (Tom's) Workbench-North Eastern Modelling 1938
Afternoon all!
The workbench is finished. As I have said earlier, Dad deserves the biggest amount of praise and I was very much the apprentice. The design was inspired by Tony Wright's workbench, and having had the opportunity to work on it, I knew what I liked (in particular the openness and space). I've also tried to put my own look to it. Three lights, a desktop LED lamp for the main workbench, a floor LED to give general light over the upper and main workbenches, and a LED bulb at the far end.
An area for wagon kits to be hung.... not a lot to show.
Upper workbench, which has it's main use for testing locos...
and for photography of locomotives
The main workbench area
Sums up what inspires me
J25...which will be finished over the coming month
Storage for nameplates, wheels etc, and plenty of kits to be getting on with
An area for my growing collection of Kirk Gresley Kits

Looks like a great space Tom, based on my experiences doing something similar you won't regret it for a second.

Nice going Tom - now get that J-twenty-whatever-it-is finished as a priority job to prove to yourself that you can do it. No more excuses now

You may have seen a J27 in Wright Writes which Tony has done some large alterations too. Well I've been detailing it up this evening, ready for a repaint.
