Hi Will, I've already made a start on the running plate/chassis assembly and I think that, with some careful work, the model can be brought up to an acceptable standard (acceptable as in better than I could hope to build myself). The running plate has been a combination of careful sanding (Medium grade sand paper, fine wet and dry and glass fibre brush) and lots of primer to get it flat. There are imperfections in the model - i.e. part of the valance hasn't formed properly but I think this can be fixed with a careful application of millput.
I've just primed the boiler without any sanding done so I'll try and post a picture tonight or over the weekend.
If I do say so myself, I think it looks the business under a set of B12 wheels and a GCR tender behind it!

The 3D print looks really good. Well done for turning it into a reality so quickly. I'll be interested in how well you can smooth out the surface roughness. Do you know if it was done on the finest print setting or even if there is such a thing? Keep us posted of your progress.
