Tees Thames advert taken from the winter 1960 ER timetable - promoted to a full page advert
Re: Darlington Saltburn branch
note-ing from the above timetable, to todays time table is three min's quicker, however to atchive this they have, straightened the track thro' Warrenby (no Fishermans,Tod Point, or Warrenby Halt) lifted the slack throu disused Grangetown station and removed Cargo Fleet station thus straighening the track, and removed the junctions for the steel works and dock area's. also remember that the beloved 142's are only 2 car were as the staemers averaged a minimum of 5.

Re: Darlington Saltburn branch
considering the outcry of resevation charging by the failed natex franchise it is interesting to note that BR charged 2d for it. Great info though a real historic piece.
don't forget about the Great Eastern Railway
Re: Darlington Saltburn branch
Nice shot of the Skinningrove diesel 'Sentinel' Mr B. Here's one on the same piece of track - Thornaby WD 90132 come to some grief. Photographed en route to school, circa November 1963.

Not something I know a great deal about, but I imagine the Marske one is quite scarce?
Re: Darlington Saltburn branch
Seeing the above pic of 90132 almost on its side, I wonder was there something in the sea air that made railwaymen a bit clumsy when working in the Redcar area?
