Manxman, I quite agree all the research in the world dose not an entertaining layout make. The signs from Worcester are good and we think that we may have something that has the potential to at least equal our previous layouts they being Evercreech Junction and Tebay.

The issue of disabled access is always a difficult problem to resolve for us. Many of our team are getting on a bit and things like hip replacements take there toll so it is not easy for them to clamber about under the layout if height is restricted to much.

With this in mind the issue of new blood is a pertinent one, Leicester will probably be the last of its kind from the finescale group because the people with the skills required are just not there any more. My own Father passed away just after Christmas aged 85 years, sadly he never got to see the layout go out on exhibition but his locomotives will go on. It always amuses me to watch the superb you tube video shot by one of the members of this board, and see his head pop up above the goods warehouse then the camera pans to one of his locomotives, Leicesters finest 60863 racing down the bank, best bit of model railway video I have ever seen.
