B1 61002 'Impala' - NYMR 40th anniversary

Post by 60800 »

A well as 60007 and Lamberton No.29 being back in traffic for the NYMR's 40th anniversary celebrations, Thompson B1 61264 is currently running as 61002 'Impala'

Ay up!

Dunno about that, George but Low Moor (56F) had a namer in 1967. Can't find any reference to it. Anyone know?

Read yesterday that 61002 was the last locomotive to haul a service from Whitby to Malton, thus the choice of identity

Going by the Green Bible, Oribi (61014) was withdrawn in 12/66, Impala (61002) in 6/67 but Nyala (61030) was withdrawn in 9/67.
