Just back from work and running no:2 son around; brief respite before going to collect him.

2862 looks really great Mick, and you have done exactly as I asked with parts supplied.

I had no idea that the tenders were different in any major way, but knowing how frequently they were swapped around on some locos, I can't get too concerned. If it niggles me in the future I'm sure it can be modified, and there is always the chance Hornby will eventually bring out an LNER Footballer, or some other opportunity may come up for a tender swap.

Anyway, really delighted and very much look forward to it arriving.

That really is a lovely job, regardless of the tender. Fabulous!

I've noticed that the spare tenders / tender bodies that come up on Ebay are invariably the high fronted types - not surprising really given the numbers of expired Replica / Bachmann B1s out there.

It did occur to me, however that if Great British Locomotives magazine does produce the K3 there is every possibility that it will have the pre-1937 low front tender (although there's a chance that it could have the earlier version with stepped out copings). A correct representation of V2 "Green Arrow" would definitely have the right tender. Based on the positive experiences so far with tenders from the GBL "Mallard" and "Flying Scotsman" you might get that opportunity for a tender swap quite soon!

If GBL does go ahead with the K3 and/or V2 I can also foresee the tender bodies ending up behind Graeme King V2 conversions and possibly Hornby D49s.

If we keep our fingers crossed GBLC may actually be a source of some useful tenders if nothing else! But, if the D11 turns out to be any good the boiler alone on that may provide meat for a few GC conversions?

G'day all
The D11 boiler was the same as the D10 (not surprising) and the L1 (L3) and very little else.
If shortened it could become a D16, but I've no other ideas.
However, a GCR tender would be useful.

Love to know how this one piece bogie would ever go around a curve . I will be using a Comet bogie bracket replacement.

This a old dog of a kit of which not much has been used. I would go for Arthurs C6 when it comes out or persuaded him to do a new C7 kit.
