A4 'Woodcock' Workshop Grey paint job

I chanced upon an interesting exchange of contributions on this subject in this forum dated back to 2011 and want to paint one of my A4 models in this 'livery' (if it was flash enough to have been described as such). One response by 2512silverfox had him saying he would 'scan some photos and post later in the day. There is a copyright problem otherwise I would post here'. With my limited computer skills I cannot find if these have appeared in this forum but if not I would be very keen to see these photos. If it is a more acceptable way around copyright issues my email address is: graeme.leary@xtra.co.nz
If anybody else has anything to add to this subject, or also has photos of Workshop grey, I'd be grateful to hear as well.

Finally, got my act together and some free time so ready to complete the Workshop Grey paint job on my spare A4 model. However, the excellent photo submitted (originally taken by Les Burley) indicates it was a fairly 'dark' grey on Woodcock and I'd be keen to have it identified more precisely (eg a Humbrol colour code number as this is easily obtainable here in New Zealand).

The nearest old Humbrol shade was HB3 (Ocean Grey) but this has been replaced by 106. I cannot verify the match since I am still using HB3!

Note that the roof and tender top were also grey not black!

Many thanks Nick - off to my nearest model shop very soon to get either/both Humbrol grey colours and I will work on the assumption that Ocean Grey will be quite acceptable if 106 hasn't reached this furthermost outpost of the Empire yet.

Sorry Nick - 'supplementary question' (as they say in certain quiz programmes), I note on the Humbrol colour charts I have that 106 is named Ocean GREEN (rather than GREY) and is in the Matt Colours section. 106 as illustrated certainly appears to have a 'greenish' hue but do you think it comes out more 'Grey', and also, is Matt the correct/appropriate finish for 'Woodcock'?

106 is a dark mid grey. I can't see any green in it when I've used it.

As Jonathan says 106 should be a mid grey which, according to Humbrol themselves, equates to the old HB3. As far as finish is concerned, I personally would suggest a satin finish, but if it was truly 'works grey' then it should be matt unless of course they put a coat of varnish over the grey to protect it until they decided what colour it was going to be. At this stage I do not think we are ever going to be sure!

At long last well into repainting Woodcock in the Works Grey but would like to clarify one final point. I have been referring to the shot taken by Les Burley that had been posted and wish to clarify/confirm that the white lining around the valances is a single line. An enlargement up of this photo definitely suggests it but as the boiler band linings are the more common White/Black/White just want to be sure that a single line around the valances is correct and also that it follows the full outer edge of the valance as, in the photo part of it is obscured by the platform. (If the answer is 'yes' it will be back to the drawing boards as the Fox's lining transfers I'm using are the White/Black/White type so will have to work out some way of splitting them to get the single line but sure it can be done).

The boiler bands are the rather uncommon white/grey/white! In other words there is no black anywhere! I know this information does not really help you, but there must be someone who does a single white line?

Lining round the valence is a single white line.

All is not lost. I've just had a very close look at the sheets of Fox Transfers and there are in fact some single fine white lines, but which are so fine and being in white they were just about 'lost' on the sheet. If all goes well might just be able to post a photo of the finished project - hopefully in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for all your help and comments.
