Just an alternative thought - could the track mounting posts (for want of a better way of describing them), which hold the GBL models to the plastic track plinth, be used for this purpose?

I have thrown mine, the only problem might be the floor where it slopes hitting? The Hornby ones are slim as well but that might be just to save on plastic.

Looks splendid. I produced one of these by the same route about 18 months or so ago before suffering(?) a period of narrow-gauge distraction. I used an Alexander Models tender kit which I enjoyed a great deal. My lining was not as enviably fine as yours.

I have a question: did you succeed in reducing the tendency of the Golden Arrow moulding to sit about a millimetre or so too high and, if so, how exactly did you do this?

No built as it comes , dont think there was much clearance under the splashers for lowering.

The lovely Hornby B17 Sandringham converted to the footballer class version Manchester United , no idea why Jim didnt want West Ham United ?? After much gritting of teeth she's finished.
Pulling a repainted and lined Bachmann Tender, Westinghouse Pump removed . Cylinders Lined out. Detail pack not fitted as it has to be posted back to Jim.

If ??? there are some decent reference books as to the differences between the two types I would have known!! I doubt if Jim knows either and built as requested !!

Re Tenders perhaps a good idea for a page on the Loco Lists page as to what differnces there are ?? The GS tenders to me are a mystery compared to the much more publicised Pacific versions .

Just back from work and running no:2 son around; brief respite before going to collect him.

2862 looks really great Mick, and you have done exactly as I asked with parts supplied.

I had no idea that the tenders were different in any major way, but knowing how frequently they were swapped around on some locos, I can't get too concerned. If it niggles me in the future I'm sure it can be modified, and there is always the chance Hornby will eventually bring out an LNER Footballer, or some other opportunity may come up for a tender swap.

Anyway, really delighted and very much look forward to it arriving.
