Good morning all
As far as I know, it's only the derelict West Pier that is going to be demolished, the Palace Pier is to remain.
I'd run away from any attraction that only sold keg beer.
There are many pubs near the sea-front at Brighton that sell decent ale.
When shopping recently, I found a delightful small pub near a shopping centre with "Creche for Pensioners" painted over the door. The ale was good and it was pleasant to wait for bus home. They even have a bus departure display in the bar.

Piers are ok especially if theres a pub at the end of it selling some good old 1970s British keg bitter i.e.-Watney's RED or Double Diamond and maybe a railway line as well?.

Cheers gents!!. :D
More than likely it will be Worthington E or if you are really lucky "Tartan"

Tried Carling Larger last Friday on our way to the K.& W.V.RLY gala.

Well worth a try and as all larger is "non fattening". [or so I'm told]

G'day all
I was taken to Southend just before I started school, and it's one of my few pre-school memories. The railway fascinated me.
It was a bit of a trip from deepest Surrey, Brighton being our nearest seaside. Perhaps we were visiting some long forgotten relatives.

Good morning all
While I do like TOP, it isn't sold in many places around here. The one pub that did sell it, no longer does so.
Harveys (of Lewes) brew some lovely beers and their Brighton outlets have grown in recent years.

Have you tried Theakston's Mild? I'm a divvil for dark beers. As they know in the Lytch Gate here in Wolverhampton by the Sea........

Although I have to say I've not seen my abovementioned brew for many a moon.
If I ain't here, I'm in Bilston, scoffing decent chips at last!!!!

I thought that Sam Smith's was supposed to be the best, if you can find it.

I occasionally drink Boddington's over here. When I'm across in Yorkshire I often drink Black Sheep - which apparently is brewed by a Theakston in Masham. Otherwise I always prefer a local brew to the multi-nationals, although nowadays its probably brewed by them anyway.

While you're talking about Red Barrel (remember the Monty Python sketch), Double Diamond, Worthington E and Tartan, you can add Whitbread Tankard.

Maybe, but you should switch to cider. As it is made from apples it counts as one of yer "5 a day".

Or wine - made from grapes.

So - a bag of chips with a glass of wine. That's 2 of your 5 a day!
