Are those rivets or holes in the I beam, Dave?
I reckon that Parkside quad can be made into a North British Boplate with not much work beyond the addition of sides. I have one put away with that in mind.

Jonathan they are holes , on the other side I set them out all square then drilled them, you are looking at the rear face, when I clean it up I hope on the front face they will look in line.
I did prick each one on the intersection of the setting out lines to help locate the drill. I'm not sure if I should do 2 or make 4 from smaller sections.

Re: Daves C & W Works
Been a while, so a quick update.
1st pic the NBR cattle wagon is painted and a start in the weathering, it looks a bit crude at present but one day
it will look like a beautiful Aardvark, and probably run like a duck.
2nd pic, the NER F4 has started through the paint shops.
3rd pic, NER G2 is being lettered then weathered.
4th pic, another NER P5 being built.

Re: Daves C & W Works
Here is a D&S kit of a NER Ballast Brake which I got a York Show in the mid 90's.....this
was my second brass kit, started it and got diverted, why I have no idea as it's a great little kit, now trying to get it finished, thanks
to Scottie Dog for sending replacement instructions. The only bit of the kit missing is the rocking w iron,
which were not in the bag, but must be somewhere in the spares box as I remember fitting it with a bit of wire
but not soldering it in place as I was going to build it to EM gauge. If I cant find it I think one of MJT's or Bill Bedfords
will fit the bill.
The first brass kit was a Dave Bradwell LNER hopper underframe, some start.

Re: Daves C & W Works
Well as a start to the road back to coaching stock this little kit landed unannounced on my
door mat from my good friend 65447 of this parish and several pubs no doubt...thank you. Progress has been very rapid as I've also been on me hols
since it arrived. As you can see it's a Chivers LNER D120 Pigeon Van....and before some of you shout about pigeon vans
not being so...Pigeons are mentioned in the title of the GA drawing, which also shows it was to have a 6 wheel underframe, but was
then revised to a 4 wheel type, all very interesting stuff if you like that sort of thing.
Also I've not trimmed the spare V hanger off yet.

Re: Daves C & W Works
Lastly A Cambrian Quint D and a D&S NER G7 van.
The G7 is a great little kit but a test for soldering all the hinge detail.
The underframe trussing is a bit of a wonder to sort out and I'm glad I have the GA drawing to clarify things.
Still to add are some bits and bobs plus the oil pots for the bogies pivots, the bogies are built and wheeled, but this is a slow burn model, I only do
bits on it when I need to do other solder work, and I have another to build.
The quint has had some strip added to represent the ones built that could take steel plate by the removal
of the bolsters.

Hey Dave,
The Mainly Trains wagon detailing etch and the odd bits and bobs on the MJT rocking unit are handy for adding the builders plate and one or two other plates on the side of the G7 which Dan didn't include in the kit.

Re: Daves C & W Works
D120 flies ahead, handrails being fitted 4.5 ns wire, door handles from 51L, other handles from flattened .5 brass wire, underframe bits started to be fitted etc,
at this rate it will soon be leaving the nest.

Some people call that 'weathering'.
But only the ones who then try to flog them on Ebay.

Jonathan,
That has reminded me, now that I have painted the one you did for me, I'll have to weather it. Doh! I am using it for milk traffic, so that will mean more weathering agent to sell on E-bay.
Dave,
Sorry for hi-jacking your thread, but if you really do need some, I can bring a big bag, to Hartlepool!!!
