I'm sure of one thing. Whilst I do at times like to prove a point, my list of outstanding tasks both inside and outside the realm of modelling is now so large, and my resources so bewilderingly disorganised, that I really need to avoid adding any further items to my "to do list" or addressing any jobs involving such complex thought and preparation as this one FOR A VERY LONG TIME.......

Whilst problem-solving is satisfying, pursuit of a hobby should involve a relaxing form of enjoyment for much of the time.

I didn't realise that I was allowed to leave that job until next week.

Here are some of the strange appendages now on the underside of the V2 body. I hope these will ensure that I can get resin into every part of the mould within the available flow-time, that all air will be swept out, and that the boiler core-piece will be able to "give" or squash sufficiently to be pulled out through the bottom slot. Part two of the mould is now poured and curing, so I may be ready to try pumping some resin in tomorrow night. Wish me luck.....

Although I did a rough calculation to estimate the volume of resin that I ought to syringe into the V2 body mould, and I added on a bit for luck, I think my intial figure needs to be revised upwards. I've managed to fill the mould more-or-less, as the picture below will show, but there was not a significant "wash through and overflow" of resin. I believe this is why I've failed to sweep out all of the air bubbles. I am however still hopeful that a bit of technique development will solve that problem.

Graeme, that looks very good to me for a first pass! I can't actually see the air bubbles that you refer to.

A fine effort, very well done! :D

In an odd way it is beneficial if the first two or three uses of the mould don't give quite the desired result. It teaches me what to do, and in particular it reminds me that I ALWAYS need to pay careful attention to method when using almost any mould! Beginner's luck can encourage me to get too "cocky" which only leads me into trouble with future casting attempts.

I think you can justifiably feel quite "cocky" after that sir! 8)

Time for sleep dreaming of ghostly V2s rushing though the night!
