Any ideas as to location?
Newcastle possibly.
A few decent shots of an NE Ballast brake.
Collision damaged coach of some description.
All on a very foggy day.

Very grim, shame the cameraman was obsessed with the signals . I think the van was attached to looks like Leyton?

With Leyton on the brake and J15 0-6-0 on the train passing an N7 0-6-2T I would suggest around Stratford Works

.....Or perhaps a little to the south : Somewhere between/along Southern Junction - Abbey Mills - Thames Wharf Junction perhaps. I've a feeling I may have seen that particular '2-way' bracket signal on a signal diagram at some time; and difficult to say with any certainty but, yes, I think the signals might be in configurations of GE origin.

I take it then that NE would still be applied to the vehicle if it was from Leyton?
Was there a depot there?
Any ideas as to which accident the coach was involved in?

Re: Pathe Film Breakdown gang
After a quick look at the film the first loco has a prominent Westo cylinder then the breakdown crane definitely Leyton on the van. I wonder if it was a wartime film recovering bomb damaged stock. BTW the previous Goswick film shows a WD carrying a 77 xxx number, we suspect it could have been one of two allocated to Tweedmouth at the time which were still carrying their WD numbers.
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.
