A short aside, if I may be permitted? Graeme was among a group of us visiting Little Bytham yesterday and he brought some of his stock along to show their paces. Among the little gems I photographed:
Original W1.
ECJS luggage brake from a Dan Pinnock kit.
I have a film of his C1 thrashing through LB with 13 on which I have now uploaded here. Others I am unable to post here at the moment.

I have failed my mission. I cannot spot the omission from GN's tender. Does the loco have cab doors by the way?
Regarding faults on tenders, since my own stupidity finally dawned on me, and I made a post-photographic correction to the added fittings on my resin streamlined non-corridor model, I've been waiting for somebody to point out that I had posed one of the fire-iron brackets on the front of the tender at a strange angle as if it were instead some sort of handle or lever

It's not easy to spot so I'll tell you. The lower row of lamp irons are missing off the rear running plate. I just forgot and it is a silly omission considering that I took the time to fill the holes and half etch in the rear of the DJH brass tender body.
Cab doors? Yes eventually. For now I have agreed with the client that they will go on once the tender connection has been shortened by the required amount. Some road trials are needed first.

As any fool could have seen using his "looking round corners" vision?

A silly arrangement one might think, but Howlden GN designs and Howlden inspired ECJS designs seem in a number of cases to have included either dummy doors just to make a coach side "look right", or no external doors at all to some of the third class compartments (or third seating bays in semi-opens), restricting access to/from platforms if not on the corridor side of the coach.
Blimey, we're on page 199.

that is "original" in the way that a responibility-shirking politician might claim to have meant it?
Actually (and I'm open to correction here) what I had in mind was that it was the first of the conversions which has spawned all these resin based and increasingly ugly variants.
