Hello everyone,
I'm trying to find any info on or even pictures of any B16/1s running on the Queensbury Lines.
This is in connection with a project I'm involved in modelling Clayton station on the line.
Time period is mid 20s to mid/late 30s so any info around this period would be most welcome.
All I know so far is that it is mentioned in Alan Whitaker & Bob Cryers' fantastic 'The Queensbury Lines' book
that B16s paid fairly frequent visits to the line in the years before the second world war....
I have a hand full of loco numbers that were allocated to Neville Hill shed in the period I'm in so its not that
unfeasible that this could have been the case.
Any help on the subject would be really fantastic...
Many thanks (in advace)
Chris Rogers

Re: B16s
The B16s were concentrated around York and Leeds from 1939 as a wartime measure to ease repairs and concentrate spares. Mirfield, ISTR had a fair allocation.
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.

Evening John
I thought I'd try & get some much needed info for some of the less day to day trains for Clayton,
it's proving quite a challenge. As much as we all like N1 & C12 tanks a bit of variety would be nice where aproprate.
I'm on with a D&S 51' milk brake wich is 60% done, (a pleasure to build) just need to workout what else is needed to run in a train with it?
Also been talking to Russell about the articulated stock we need, I'm more than happy to put my name down for a quad set & a twin. He also mentioned that there might not have been any triplets on the line in our period, I might have got that wrong?
You'll have to call in at the club when you get chance & have a look at out progress with the layout.
Cheers
