She will be appearing at some time in the next 12 months.

Capercaillie is awaiting the workbench but I really need to start the J25 at somepoint.

Glorious sunshine (for a short time) this morning, so headed to the Garden with the latest 1938 locomotive 2577, of York Shed.
Although it looks similar to the other two, I have tried to show this loco has been cleaned, with a collection of dirt around the boiler bands,
plus that which has sprayed up from traffic.

The name plates are different from the 247 version I have , by coincidence my latest order from him arrived today (took 2 weeks) he has stated he is "looking" at the plates whatever that means!! and will let me know !!

Well, first of all I'm back from my Heart Scan at the James Cook Hospital, Middlesbrough.
Although it was only precautionary due to the medication I'm on, it's been on my mind somewhat over the past few weeks. They said they
will review the paper work, but after what they have seen I shouldn't be worried and they doubt I will hear back from them. It's a very odd feeling seeing your heart beating on a screen.
Still on more medication though, and my moods feel all over the place, but if it means I get better, then it must be for the best.

On a happier note, thanks to the Ken Hoole Study Centre, I now have these....all 138 pages of it!

The WTT looks interesting.

As it is a summer one, is there a 6.00pm 'Motor car train' from KX to Edinburgh, run as required, i.e. 'Q', listed? I think it stopped at York in the late evening in the 1937 GN Area version, so it should be in the NE Area version, if it ran in summer 1938. I don't think there was an corresponding Up service.

Does anyone have any further info. on 'Motor Car trains'?

There is a 6pm Q train from King's Cross, but it's simply listed as No1 Express Parcels. No mention of Motor Car Train.

The main thing I notice from the timetable is the amount of suspended services. I've attached a picture showing what I mean. Silly question I realise, but does this mean they simply didn't run these trains.

Tom clouds of War gathering in Europe could have a dramatic effect on the 1937 onwards WTTs. I should imagine that's where the suspended comes in.

First 1938 A4 is taking shape. Aiming to get her done by the first half of the weekend (weathered and everything) ready for an outing on Sunday.
The photo also shows up the newly painted wheels well too.

Number of suspended services seems a lot for 1938 - it would seem from other sources (public timetables) that the cuts came later!

G'Day Gents

The suspensions, could be for the evacuation trains, when all the kids were sent out of London and large urban towns, to the safety of the country, my mother (as a girl) was sent to Richmond (Yorks) to live with an Aunt, my Dad ended up in Saffron Walden.

I live near Richmond Manna!

Would this be happening in the Summer of 1938, over 12 months before war was declared. I know war was approaching and everyone knew it...but would evacuation be a little early in 1938?
