I seem to remember (or did I dream it) something about a proposal to fit the Clans with Britannia boilers. Any thoughts out there?
P.S. If members are interested, I have a number of BR Standard 'never weres' drawn up like my LNER never weres already posted in the forum - if anybody is interested I will upload these drawings.

An 8F proposal, drawn up for Western Region consumption - in the end they took 9Fs.This one had the standard class 5 (No. 3 boiler).

Do you have a line drawing of the original proposal for the 8P Pacific that was drawn up by the Derby Drawing Office under J.F. Harrison. I understand it got a rather frosty reception at Riddles' office in Marylebone when it arrived there. From memory a line diagram was published in one of Stuart Cox's volumes...

I cannot seem to view my own images so this is what to do

Scroll to Save Target as
Save file on your computer and then open it using Paint or any picture viewing software.

Web formats are rather loose and woolly things, but they don't specify TIFF images as a part of the standard. GIF, PNG, and JPG are the usual ones. So your browser does not recognise the TIFF file as a displayable image and probably does not have the required libraries to display it.
This is why you have to download them as an attachment, and then view it locally.
TIFFs have their origins in desktop publishing and are popular there. Microsoft' fax software also uses them.
(of the above four formats, JPEG works differently from the others - it is not very good for line drawings, but is great for photos)

Tiff images
It would appear that the browser you use plays a part in viewing these images. I run FIREFOX (latest version 3) and have no problem at all viewing all types of images. I would strongly recommend using it, especially if you download and install the various add-ons (all free). These loco drawings come out particularly well.
