I originally read D10C as DC10, which got me thinking along quite different lines! Not as interesting as a VC10 though. Many railway modellers do also seem to be interested in flying machines.
Most subjects, models and techniques covered in this thread are now listed in various categories on page1

Atlantic trains planes and tanks seem to be a common theme with us railway modellers, and those VC10's in BOAC speedbird colours just wonderful, it's a pity BOAC did not want to buy them and had to be forced by the Gov. especially after they had specified the design in the first place for a short take off in hot climates and altitude. A far better plane than the 707 they wanted.

Well following on from my update on the D10C (note Atlantic) on the last page, I think I have found the solution to the louvres not sticking very well with plastic weld after the glazing has been treated. I've found a glue that seems on the surface to be just the job....Delux Glue & Glaze, I have a bottle coming and will test over the weekend.

Bottle of glue & glaze arrived so I will test it.

Quick update on the Parkside horse box sides now fixed, roof just placed on to see what it looked like.

Plus another Cambrian LNER wagon, this time a Darlington version, it differs from the Doncaster version by having raked end stanchions.
The wagon on the left is the Darlington version ( without buffers).
Next pic is a close up of a Darlington end, then a Doncaster end.
The Doncaster wagon has started to have the timber look painted to the inside.

Well the glue & glaze works a treat, I tested on some clear scrap fully coating one side, it takes a bit to dry clear (24hrs since I did it) but now you can't see anything and it's crystal clear, now to rescribe those louvres and stick them on.

A quick update on the horse box ...MJT cast vac cyl and brake safey loop added, ends of wire need to be trimmed and finishing.

New vents to the toilet windows have been made but need painting before I fix them in place, I will use that g&g glue.

Well here is the sample of glazing glued with glue & glaze, I deliberately put a blob in the middle so you could see any effect, it looks to my eye that it has improved the transparency.

I've been throwing ice on the fire for the last few weeks so its nice that it's a bit cooler now so I felt I could do a bit of painting.
So I've roughly undercoated the horsebox in Humbrol 62 (I think) - 1st pic.
Then first coat of Vallejo Model Colour Flat Earth as LNER teak paint - 2nd pic.

Quick question regarding wagon plates...would a NER built wagon keep its NER works plates or would it get a LNER replacment plate during LNER days.

Since the NER numbers were not as a rule changed, they retained their NER plates.

Some very old PC methfix transfers added to the Cambrian wagons.

The C8 sleeper wagon is another old build that is now being finished. It's painted in Cherry paints LNER grey if I remember correctly.

Question - how do you get the body top off a Hornby loco drive GN tender ?.
