Can we have a P2 in N gauge, preferably number 2001. There's also a K3 coming out in OO, so couldn't Bachmann just scale it down a bit? Please!

I would have said a P2 would have been dreamland - but then the OO guys have had three ready to run diesel prototypes out in the past few months - Deltic, Kestrel, and 10000/1.

Maybe in ten years we might see a P2 in N if we're lucky!

Correction: The 00 K3 has been out for more than a year now (I forget when it was released). I've got one, it's superb! :)

I can't imagine enough demand for the P2 to justify an RTR manufacturer to pick it up :? but as Richard said, the diesel fans have been spoilt with their prototypes, so perhaps there is an outside chance. You just have to make sure the manufacturer knows you want it. As for me, I'm happy to track down a kit and make it myself :)

Is anybody aware of any manufacturer of a P2 kit in N Gauge?

As far as I am aware there isn't a kit for a P2 in N gauge. It might be possible to bash one out of an A3 and an A4 body but I don't know of a chassis that'll come close to the correct wheelbase or wheel diameter.

There are a number of Mikado chassis available on the US and Japanese markets, and most (if not all) have Walschaerts gear and piston valves - but off the top of my head most are freight engines. Ie. the driving wheels will be too small.

Just put in for a ready to run A2, B16, K3, J50 and an L1. Also track sections with built-in water troughs (sans real water, of course), and latticework footbridges and signal gantries. Ah, and GNR signalboxes.

giner,

That is a great list. I put in for the A2 as well. But there already is a K3. :?

I was tempted to nominate the L1 too, and certainly wouldn't be heartbroken if a decent RTR one were to become available. But for anyone who's tempted to vote for a K3, here's the more than adequate one which Bachmann have been offering for (I guess) a couple of years now -

So - did anyone dare tell Stephenson, "It's not Rocket science"?

Still puts LNER ahead with the highest number of votes. So anyone who hasn't voted here is the URL again:

Thanks, Bullhead and CVR1865 for the heads-up on the K3 being already available - looks like Bachmann did a nice job on it.

Yes, I'd love to see an L1 made. They were the workhorses of suburban services out of the Cross up through my old neck of the woods (Stevenage) to Hitchin and beyond. That gives a clue to my request for track sections with installed water troughs.

Come on then, lads. Get your LNER submissions in to the poll. You don't ask - you don't get, y'know.

The results are out. www.mremag.com

That is great news for everyone who voted and whilst it didn't get an LNER on the top spot there were many positives. I hold out definate hope that the manufacturers will find us a new model soon.

Well done to all of us.

c'mon guys who voted for the A2 then??? I must say it never even crossed my mind!

glad to see something a bit different in the top 10- Even as a LNER fan I must admit the choices for other companies did at least show some original thinking on some truly interesting prototypes.
