Good moning all
It's been a very interesting diversion, GK, and as usual very informative on new (for me) modelling techniques. It would have been interesting in real life to see if the Mikado could match the speed of the Merchant on the old LSWR main line. I remember it was a struggle for my mother to get me across Sir Richards Bridge (between Walton-on-Thames and Weybridge) when visiting an aunt, as spam cans would be hurtling along at speed.

May I echo everyone else - your workbench is never boring Graeme!

Truly a remarkable model. Please may we have some video of it in motion? :)

Time permitting, I shall sort out some video. This evening after cleaning my layout up for the first time in ages I've been giving the Archbishop a more thorough series of test runs. As always, when I introduce a fancy hand-built loco of a new type, I've discovered some more examples of my shoddy track-laying some years ago  . Life would have been a little easier without the reduction of flanges to RP25ish, or with some springing of the outer sets of coupled wheels at least......

Over the past week or so I've read this thread pretty much start to finish, and I am constantly astounded by the quality and inventiveness of your work Graeme.

The 2-8-2 Bulleid is the latest in a long line of awesomeness, and it's a beauty!

Very kind of you to say so, and with my fortnight of running around here, there and everywhere in order to show due appreciation of my kids' achievements over I should be able to use this weekend to get myself organised again, reply to outstanding messages, and be ready (I hope) to start some more modelling next week.
I have some resin parts to send off, some refinements to make to the Bulleid's livery, an A2/2 Wolf of Badenoch conversion to undertake for Sir John of Leeds (Central), and then it might be something from the Robinson or Pollitt stable.

So much for huge queues at the for the Great Gathering of A4s. We arrived at the doors furthest from the city centre at about 2.30pm today, having parked easily a short walk up the road free of charge, and strolled straight in. There were quite a few people milling around the super-six and it was very warm in that area or up on the balconies/footbridge, but it was nothing like the agony that I'd envisaged based on reports of attendances even in this second week. Very nice the A4s looked too.

Last A4 I saw was "Bittern" in bits at the mid-Hants. That dates my interest.... I imagine that the York display must, in fact, be breathtaking (all cynicism put, for the moment, aside).

Keen to see what Pollitry/Robinsonry youre up to....

A thoroughly excellent thread to read, many enjoyable hours spent reading through it- and many ideas to try out!

I'll watch your exploits with Robinson and Pollitt stock with great interest.

My newly created LNER / Crest / 3279 avatar seems to have turned out quite nicely. It took quite a long time to put the full size master image together. Am I brave enough &/or daft enough to get it printed on a T-shirt I wonder :?:

Anything weird or unusual will catch my interest, be it an express or locomotive

I'm also drawn to the commemorative, let's hope Bachmann will produce 6165 Valour.

Good morning all
One can buy A4 transfer sheets for an ink-jet printer. Then its a just a case of ironing onto a tee shirt (on a hard surface not an ironing board).
Embroidered shirts are a bit expensive for individual shirts.
I'm sure you have more than enough courage to wear such a shirt.

A DIY custom T-shirt, now there's an idea. It has to be cheaper than ordering one, which on the web would mean having no true idea of the shirt colour, shirt quality, print colour or print quality until it was delivered. Mmmmmmmm, thinking.......

You could even use two A4 transfer sheets, carefully aligned. Front and back printing also becomes a possibility. I believe you've earned some house points for that suggestion M.

Beware Iron on Transfer sheets. I bought some years ago to put a graphic of an Alexanders Bluebird Bus onto a Tee Shirt. It worked but didn't stay on!

It may cost but I am advised that there will be a local firm who can do a permanent and professional job for you.

G'Day Gents

With the 'brownie' points accrued from a good idea, he'll get his T shirt, and being a brave sort of a fellow, he'll wear it, but is he brave enough, to build 3279................won't be yet though
