G'day all
The O2/2 has better potential, as it is a possible subject for conversion to an O1 (Gresley, not ET), and could be modified to an O2/3, with a new cab and a tender that is readily available.

Thanks for the reminder Blackout. I have just pushed out the boat and pre-ordered both the early and late crest version.

Let us hope that Mrs SS is not taking too much notice of the credit card statement when those two beauties are delivered.
John.

I've told the mother I'll have switched card details by the time mine arrives! ;)

I've been alerted to similar comments regarding the O2/2 on another forum.

I think that Hattons may have their lines crossed or at the very least have been given incorrect information.

As far as I am concerned I am working on the O2/3 and O2/4 versions which will share the most components and pave the way for the earlier versions at a later date. This indeed is what I have previously explained on this forum so if their has been a change of plan, and I only received some target dates for material submission last Thursday, then I am certainly unaware of it. However I will endeavour.....very quickly I might add!......to find out as to change things at this stage for me is unacceptable!

I will keep you posted!!!

Either way, I'll be getting one to support the next lot, regardless of order :)

As I said barely nine hours ago, it's too soon to get carried away with the idea that Hattons have the right details....
Atlantic 3279 wrote:I await some further confirmation of these from those "really in the know" as the O2/2 choice, which would certainly suit me miles better than a /3 or /4, is definitely at odds with the news we were given only a few months ago. It seems to me not beyond all possibility that Hattons have scrambled the information, so I won't get too excited yet.

I'm with Blackout on this.

I will buy at least two of whichever subclass is produced, as they are the locos that I grew up seeing the most frequently (apart maybe from B1s - and I already have lost count of how many of those I have purchased, from three different manufacturers).

And, the more sales the initial production run gets, the more chance of further variations in the future.

Thanks Brush53Falcon for keeping us up to date. Three cheers for Heljan.

(I am allowing myself to get moderately excited).
John.

Hatton's have listed Heljan's Tangos for preorder

product code 3900 in LNER livery £130
product code 3901 in LNER livery £130
product code 3902 in BR black with early emblem £130
product code 3903 in BR black with late emblem £130
product code 3904 in BR black with early emblem weathered £138

They say these are the O2/2 but there is provision to also tool the O2/3 in the future

Regardless of what "Hattons" are listing, my money is on "Brush Falcon" being our most accurate and reliable source of information.
Due to his connections with Heljan on this product, to which I have been Privy for about two years now. :D
How about it being released in 7mm scale instead though!

This debate is turning into a fascinating old chestnut - remarkable given that none of the facts are known at this stage, nor are they apparently open to our influence.

Why should that stop anyone? This is the Internet!

I haven't been following this thread - what are we speculating about?

Whether it's going to be a double-chimney Dean Goods in Br Blue with double arrows...... :D

Actually I've already pre-ordered as well, so I'm sure that Brush Falcon will ensure I get a nice new toy.

Excellent, but I thought that what I had pre-ordered was an LNER liveried Battlespace Turbocar

Come on SS, do keep up, that was yesterday. I gather the specification is now for a Network South East liveried oil fired Stirling Single with double corridor tender. And I've got a pre-order......

Lawdy lawdy, what am I going to get?
