Had a day at the South Gare watching the ships coming in and out then decided to drive home via Saltburn Skelton etc via Glaisdale and so on.
When nearing Saltburn Modom saw steam up towards Brotton so we parked by the overbridge and eventually the K1 and at the other end the K4 came by on their way to Teesside. Evidently Brotton was as far as they got Boulby didn't seem to know anything about them!!!
When I find the photo files I will try and add them onto this letter.

I was on that train - we got as far as Crag Hall, up by Skinningrove, but had to turn back there because the track from there to Boulby was having some urgent repairs done, so we were told. The previous run, as pictured upthread, on 20th October last year, did get all the way up to Boulby.

Leaping back about 15 pages, I've just been sent this which I thought you might appreciate. I have no idea where it is taken from or who the photographer might be, but if they happen across it and want to contact me, suitable acknowledgement will be given.

My interest is in Warners' Ironworks in the background - used to go in there frequently with my dad picking up pig iron and I have the nameplate from the larger of the two shunters which used to work in there.

cracking picture jw , its Smeaton Street in Doggy , the trollys turned at Doggy then headed back towards Slaggy , turned at Bennets Corner junction for Normanby Top to turn and return or Cardboard City here they turned around the Bullring and headed back . A grand opperating system that went no where , plans to extend to Redcar was squashed by the United Automobile Co .

I can remember the trolly buses going up and down Wood Green High Rd in Norf Lundun, always impressed by there acceleration and a quiet whine, whilst moving. Should never have done away with them.

its all gone Mana , houses , steel works , all thats there now is a new by-pass road (A66) , will get a recent picture .

if you look down the left side of the photo you will notice a british rail station sign , this went to the now disused and removed Cargo Fleet station , the road now leads you down to Riverside Stadium home of Middlesbrough FC .
