My Photos Have Moved

Post by PinzaC55 »

Hi everybody, in common with many Flickr users I have taken such exception to the changes there that I have my photographs to the website Ipernity and deleted them all from Flickr. They can now be found at www.ipernity.com/pinzac55 Over the next few days - there are 3890 shots - I will be organising them into albums such as Signalling, Deltics, Stations etc.

Yes, I was considering moving mine, but being a lazy so and so I have not got around to it yet.

I don't know why Flickr thought that it would be a good idea to ruin the front page layout of every contributor, and seemingly make it impossible to have photos organised to any other order than the date of upload, but the previous version was not broke, so why fix it?
John.

My spotting log website is at https://spottinglogs.co.uk/spotting-rec ... s-70s-80s/

And my spotters' b&w photo site is at http://spottinglogs.blog

A bit like Royal Mail. The management motto there is "If it's not broke - break it!"

The thinking on the forum at Flickr - from Flickr members - was that they want to make it more like Facebook and in particular they want lots of adverts. For me it was the same as Windows 8 , "what the hell is this?".
If you use the extension Tampermonkey with Google you can move your shots in batches of 90 and it takes your descriptions and tags along with the shots.

I will be using Ipernity.com which may be blocked too. I have a friend who works in a bank call centre and photo sharing sites are blocked to discourage staff from surfing when they should be working :o

Try this pic when you are at work http://www.ipernity.com/doc/pinzac55/21779675

Just for everyone's info.: In trying to use the ipernity link, site not 'Blocked' (no surprise; I'm not using a work's computer), but I see it's a site that you have to register on and login to, to get any access.

Yes, you're right DB, that one's okay for me as well. Thanks.
It was the link in PinzaC55's post of 19:18 yesterday evening that takes me to a register/login page : Curious, - unless registering there, then presumably needing logging-in in future, is a way that allows access from some work computers.

[ Edited 14:30, 20/06 : So that the last sentence makes sense grammatically! ]

I guess that must be only accessible to me. I will check and edit it to get the public version
