A fine Line Up

Post by Deepol »

Not strictly the Passenger Loco but Locos at the Passenger in this old cutting from the loft. From the left 2746 Fairway with a goodly selection behind her, then 2598 Blenheim on a fairly lengthy train in the centre and on the right on I think the Flying Scotsman is possibly 2795 Call Boy. A brilliant scene I had forgotten I had.

Great photo, Deepol. Now that's a real railway. Funny thing, but I never did cop those three locos. I think that by the mid to late fifties they must have been confined to other distant parts of the country.

Blenheim and Call Boy were at Haymarket I would think by that time. I saw them a lot in the early 1960s. Fairway possibly was a Gateshead A3 in the late 50s/ early 60s.

Yep, very good, Deepol.
Also noting that this was back before platforms' 7/8 island was widened to a good width, because No.9 siding still existed in the main trainshed.

G'Day Gents

Indeed a grand line up, with the lengths of today's trains, maybe some of the shorter platforms should be reintroduced, I always thought a two car Cravens looked a little odd, at the buffer stops.
