Eastern Region 9Fs

Post by Flyingscotsmanfan »

Does anyone have a list of the 9Fs that worked in the eastern region particularly Essex (if they did that is)? Or know where I can find a list on the internet?
Many thanks in advance.

The 9fs did work in Essex from Stratford to Parkeston, I am fairly certain they were all March locos as we didn1t have any at Stratford, I cannot remember the numbers tho,

I only thought 9F 2-10-0 worked March to Temple Mills yard, with one 9F allocated to Stratford shed for this work.

They did work through to Tilbury docks on the LTS Section, but I've not seen any record of one working up the GE main line via Chelmsford and Colchester. (I lived at Ingatestone and spent many hours "spotting" in the 1950/60s - the "grapevine talked of many things but not a 2-10-0!)

WD 2-8-0s worked on the GE and Valcan was allocted to Colchester shed, perhaps this is what was seen.

Regards
Paul

I dont know if it was a regular turn to Parkeston or maybe just a fill in at certain times, they used to come up road between 1400 and 1600 weekdays,
