Rail Blue, thats a joke isn't it? I'm not so old I can't remember the BR Two Tone Green with no yellow anywhere. The Deltics just look stunning in this colour, Rail Blue is just plain boring!

I saw all the Deltics in B.R. 2-tone green in the mid/late 1960s and all of them in British Rail corporate blue from the late 1960s onwards and personally i reckon that they carried the British Rail corporate blue livery from the late 1960s right through the 1970s to withdrawal in the early 1980s very well, it suited them.

Most spotter's from the above time period would remember them in British Rail corporate blue livery anyway so why paint them up in a livery few can remember like B.R. 2-tone green or give them a completely new livery that they never run in during there time with British Rail?.

KEEP THE DELTICS IN BRITISH RAIL CORPORATE BLUE

Dellies look fat in corporate blue :( The two tone green with yellow warning panels breaks the locomotive up nicely.

No way there's a picture of a 2-tone green Deltic on these pages and it looks like 'green pea soup' a complete mess!!. :?

BRITISH RAIL CORPORATE BLUE IS THE LIVERY

So if what you say is based on what spotters remember how many remember Bittern in valanced Garter Blue, Sir Nigel Gresley in early BR blue or Flying Scotsman in pre-war Apple Green or wartime Black? I would guess there are many that remember the 1950/60's BR Green era but how many remember spotting in the 1930/40's?

Please don't upset him. I don't think there are enough swear words in the dictionary to describe Micky's views on the Porterbrook Deltic's livery.

It were b####y awful. Thankfully I only had the displeasure of seeing it once at the Doncaster 150 open day. I can't remember for the life of me what other diesels and 'lectrics were there, but I sure remember that block of purple

Thanks for your calming words John i don't want Richard to bar me (i wouldn't know wot to do with myself all day?).

But seriously guy's the Deltics can only run in either authentic B.R. 2-tone green livery (1961-62-circa 68) or British Rail corporate blue livery (circa 1968-1981) any other livery is travesty and an abomination unto the lord!!. :?

I always personally thought that the 'white cab surrounds' on the blue liveried Finsbury Park Deltics was a bit 'iffy' to be honest Iron Duke?.

Still i suppose it is just about 'acceptable' (to me) seeing that several of them did run in revenue earning traffic during the late 1970s in that condition. :?
