Beamish railway photos 29/3/2013

Post by Rlangham »

Some photos from a quick trip to Beamish today - wasn't aware trains from Rowley were running, so was surprised when walking towards the town to see NCB 22 shunting a tanker at the other end of town, luckily got the station in time to see it do some more shunting including pulling Y7 985 out before starting services

985 now faces west, to equal out tyre wear (the demonstration line is mostly straight with a right hand curve at the end)

As they have been for about 40 years since I first saw them as a teenager!
Nice to see Beamish pulling their fingers out and finally running some trains. :D

It's definitely good to see them running at the 1913 town, it's just a shame the J21 is in such poor condition at Shildon, but at least now undercover. There's some interesting posts on the Drops on the Beamish transport blog here;
