They are clearly GNR in the style of locomotive lettering, but where would "Luggage" have been used? All references and photos suggest carriage stock had blue shading to the lettering and a serif style.

The SVR have a number of original transfers on display in their Engine House at Highley including these oddities.
They are clearly GNR in the style of locomotive lettering, but where would "Luggage" have been used? All references and photos suggest carriage stock had blue shading to the lettering and a serif style.

Thanks, it explains a lot. The fact they might have been GNR(I) just did not occur to me even though the drop shadow was to the left, not the right of the figures.
