RIVERSIDE QUAY, HULL

RIVERSIDE QUAY,HULL c1947.jpg
Anyone on here got any first hand knowledge of Riverside Quay? Attached is the postwar signalling as provided for serving troop trains repatrating prisoners of war and home coming UK solders etc. As can be seen the signalling is unusual and also the method of working.
It could be turned into an interesting model, especialy for someone with also an interest in maritime modelling. Mick.
Intrested in signalling, P Way, loco's and most railway subjects. Keen model maker etc. presently aiming to model part of Hull, Springhead yard etc.

Would that be the same site as the 'Riverside Quay' which was in use between 11.05.1907 (or 01.07.1908, sources vary) and August 1914?

Yes same site, in use until 1939, destroyed during war then reinstated. Mick.

Pushing it a bit here on dates. I started on the footplate 1947 and no mention of workings from Botanic to Riverside quay. I assume it was worked as in previous refugee days, by Dairycoates men to Paragon station. Again, I heard no stories of troop specials from Paragon from any of the Botanic drivers. The assumption is that the returning troops were then put on to scheduled trains.
Footplate ex Botanic Gardens & Bradford GN (Bowling)
