Google map of locomotive depots

Post by Chamossaire »

As an aside to my work on http://www.brdatabase.info, I used the grid reference data of the locomotive depots to create a google map - unfortunately it spreads the data over 3 pages (which can be fixed but I haven't found out how yet - anybody?)

Please take a look and let me know if it works as I want to make it 'more public' if it's OK.

Thanks

Checked the four shown in Hull and it pops up with the information no problem.

I picked a few around the UK at random, and it seems to work very well.

Looks like an excellent resource to me. But you still have to proceed with caution. For instance, some sheds have shifted position during their history. You need to go elsewhere to learn this. Some older sheds are missing eg Westbourne Park. Rather than try to encompass everything, maybe there should be a more explicit statement about the information presented? But it's still great to be able to visit these sites so easily, so thanks for providing this.
