Where's this spiffing looking station? - not often photographed, really, end on junction used by GN trains and actor Gary (yup, nope, maybe) Cooper went to school here.

Dunstable. Just been walking round there, well Sewell Bank in fact. Mileposts intact (big concrete ones) and a rather sorry concrete post distant signal..

Well done, sir - haven't been there in years - I take it there is no trace of the level crossing at the North Station now?

We missed out the section over the crossing as it looked too developed. From google earth it looks like nothing is left. From Dunstable towards Luton thing's look like they are trying to stop people walking along the line so we didn't give it a look. From Ayot to Blackbridge Sidings and beyond is a footpath and a very nice walk with lots to look at if you know what to look for... Point rodding, crank bases, platform remains, signals, signalbox base, relay location legs and gradient posts are all visible. The ground frame base is extant at Blackbridge. At Robinsons Wood crossing one gets the impression there was more than just a simple occupation crossing. There are remains of dry cell batteries and relay location legs. I think there may have been loud sounding bells operated by track circuits.. A really interesting walk..
