Those of you on here will know of my interest in this area and like myself wonder why the line from Berwick Northwards has never been significantly upgraded. Even when the line was first constructed by the NBR there were problems with shoddy workmanship that have never been fully resolved. The repairs following the flooding of 65 years ago were done quickly and rather well considering it was just after the war. Now Network Rail are going to Invest with disruption to passengers its just a pity some of the minor lines and one maior one in the area have been closed or the diversions could have been a little less problematic.
