Cuneo himself told me a story about the Saltash Bridge. The Up Cornish Riviera was stopped for him on his way back to his studio in London (Molesey) one Friday when he was working on the Saltash Bridge poster for BR. He climbed into his first class compartment in his boiler suit and was greeted by a little old lady who looked a bit miffed. "I'm terribly sorry about my attire" said he "but I have been paintng the Saltash Bridge" There was a pause and she said "I do hope that you have chosen a nice colour!"
